Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. Her budget was supplemented by a stipend for students and part-time work. Lennox was not happy with the quality of her performance compared with other students at Royal Academy and began looking to find alternative routes. Lennox became part of the group Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. However, she left shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. Her main role was as the singer of The Tourists from 1977 until in 1980. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom they would create the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began work with Diva in 1992. This was her debut solo album. It was an enormous hit with regard to the sales as well as critically acclaimed. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox compiled her top blues soul tracks from her early childhood. In addition in May 2019 Lennox published Lepidoptera an album of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. is a companion piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art titled"Now I'll Let You go... It's the first time she has released an independent album. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, proceeded to achieve international fame in 1990s when they formed the Eurythmics. Lennox started her solo career in 1992, with the release of Diva that featured many of her most popular songs such as Why and walking on Broken Glass. Medusa, a 1995 studio album that features covers of tracks like No MoreI Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. Her solo catalog includes six studio albums as well as a compilation album. |
